Karisma Kapoor Talks About How ‘stripped Of All Glamour’ She Felt In Brown: ‘depression And Alcoholism Are Not The Only Issues That Move Her’

An upcoming web series titled Brown will feature Karisma Kapoor in the role of a police officer, Rita Brown. She discussed how she is stripped of all glamor and glitz in the show, which is somewhat of a departure for her. During the investigation, her character, a recovering alcoholic, has to solve a murder that occurred in a well-known family.
The film is based on Abheek Barua’s 2016 novel City of Death. Abhinay Deo directed the series, which was adapted by Digvijay Singh, Sunayana Kumari, and Mayukh Ghosh. Karisma is joined by veteran actors Helen, Soni Razdan, Surya Sharma, and KK Raina in Brown.
As part of the Rita Brown role, Karisma did not wear any makeup in the series and relied on methods to appear more tired. Actors who play alcoholics rarely drink don’t eat dinner at night and fall asleep after a few drinks. In addition to learning how to roll a cigarette, she also learned how to handle a gun.
She most recently appeared in the Zee5 series Mentalhood in 2020. In her upcoming film, tentatively titled The Buckingham Murders, Kareena Kapoor also plays a detective investigating a murder. In the web series Mare of Easttown, she played a character inspired by Kate Winslet.
