Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar met Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath in Mumbai and discussed the film city project. Urging Adityanath to watch his latest movie ‘Ram Setu’, Akshay Kumar said the Hindi film industry is eagerly awaiting the film city being developed by the Uttar Pradesh government as it will provide a new alternative.

Filmmakers should emphasize issues of social and national consciousness while choosing themes, Adityanath added. Throughout the meeting which continued for thirty-five minutes, Akshay Kumar informed the UP CM that there is a lot of interest in the Indian film industry around the Film City project. He said the development of a world-class film and information city in UP will provide a new option for film professionals to plan their projects.

Akshay also discussed the research and preparations that went into finalizing the script of ‘Ramsetu’ with the UP CM, reiterating that Adityanath should see his film only once. CM Yogi said that cinema plays a big role in creating public awareness and filmmakers should emphasize issues of social and national importance while choosing topics.

He said that the film city in UP will be at par with global standards and added that a new film rule is also being formulated. CM Yogi Adityanath also invited Akshay Kumar to visit Uttar Pradesh.
