IPL 2023: MS Dhoni Hits ‘Double Century’ For Chennai, Enters The Particular Club With Virat Kohli

200 sixes for an IPL franchise: MS Dhoni entered Virat Kohli’s club by completing a memorable double hundred during his unbeaten 7-ball 14 against Gujarat Titans on Friday.

In the opening match of IPL 2023, Chennai Super Kings suffered a 5-wicket defeat against defending champions Gujarat Giants. Batting first after losing the toss, Chennai Super Kings scored 178 runs for 7 wickets. MS Dhoni, who came out to bat at the eighth position, scored an unbeaten 14 off 7 balls and took the team to a score of 178 runs.

The second batsman to hit 200 sixes for a team

Dhoni also hit a six during his short innings of 14 runs. Dhoni became the second batsman after Virat Kohli to hit 200 sixes for a team in IPL history while batting at a strike rate of 200. Virat Kohli has hit 212 sixes in 216 matches for RCB.

Dhoni has so many sixes in IPL

MS Dhoni has hit 226 sixes in 228 matches played in 16 seasons of IPL. Out of this, he hit 200 sixes while playing for Chennai and 24 sixes while playing for Pune Super Giants. In such a situation, only Virat and Dhoni are in this special club. Apart from these two, no other Indian has been able to do this. Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma can also join this club soon. Rohit is the Indian batsman with the most sixes in IPL. He has hit a total of 234 sixes in 221 matches. Rohit has done this while playing for Mumbai Indians and Deccan Chargers. Dhoni is second only to Rohit among Indian players to hit the most sixes in IPL and fourth overall.
