6 Keys to Successful Facebook Advertising

Facebook Advertising

Facebook advertising has been a hot topic among eCommerce sellers for some time now. It’s an attractive proposition because there are so many people on the platform — with 1.79 billion monthly active users and 30% growth year-over-year, it’s an enormous pool of potential customers.

So why do most eCommerce businesses struggle with Facebook advertising?

Facebook is a pay-to-play platform, and paying to play isn’t cheap. If you don’t know what you’re doing, you can quickly burn through a lot of money with no results to show for it. That said, there are tens of thousands of successful eCommerce companies using Facebook successfully every day. Facebook advertising offers a great way to reach your target audience. But creating effective Facebook ad campaigns is harder than it looks, click here for Facebook advertising services in NZ. As you know, the platform is constantly changing, so it’s important to stay on top of best practices. These five things will ensure that you’re on track to meet your goals and make the most of your efforts.

1. Know Your Objective

Facebook offers different ad objectives depending on what you want to accomplish with your ad campaign. It’s important to set this up first since this will dictate how your ads will be delivered to your audience and how they are optimized by Facebook.

2. Set Up Custom Audiences

Custom audiences let you target people who have interacted with your brand in the past. You can create custom audiences based on website traffic, video views, conversions, email lists, or people who’ve engaged with your page or app in some other way. You can also target lookalike audiences (people who share similar interests and characteristics) and save ad sets for future use if you want to run similar campaigns later.

3. Set clear goals for your ads

You may want to generate brand awareness, leads, or sales from your Facebook campaign. You should decide before you begin what your objectives are and then track your success as you go. As you test different campaigns and ads, you can determine which ones work best for your goals and focus on those moving forward.

4. Keep It Simple, Silly

You only have a few seconds (at most) to grab someone’s attention when they see your ad on their news feed, so don’t complicate things with a long story or lots of text. Write an effective headline and use great graphics in your ad.

5. Create a broad audience target

Once you understand who your target customer is, create a campaign targeting them broadly without specifying any precise interests that they have. If possible, exclude people who already like your page by using the “exclude people who like your page” option under the advanced options in the audience section of Facebook Ads Manager. This will help you reach new customers who don’t know about your business yet and will allow you to see which audiences are most likely to convert into website visitors or paying customers based on their interaction with your ad or post.

6. Use images that grab attention

The image in your ad is the first thing people notice — and it’s important that they notice it! Use images that stand out and will draw people in. Bright colors work well to grab attention, as do pictures that are unexpected or funny. The look of your text can also make a difference: if you have just one or two words on the image, try using them in all caps and with a lot of contrast
